County Employee Internal Job Board

If you are one of the selected candidates, you will receive a personal phone call from the hiring team for an interview and testing, if applicable.

  • Time, date and location will be confirmed
  • You may request an accommodation for a disability, if required
  • Will follow up with an email confirming interview details

You will know ahead of time if the recruitment process will include a pre-employment test. This is typically completed at or after the interview.

Interview Preparation Tips!

  • Review our website and social media to learn more about our company culture
  • We will mainly ask behavioural based interview questions and use the STAR method to learn more about your past experience and skills, as it relates to the position you’ve applied to
  • Come prepared with any questions you may have for us
  • Bring your list of references – if you are the selected candidate, we will require at least 2 employment references from your current/previous supervisors

If you are chosen as the successful candidate, the hiring manager will contact you with a verbal conditional offer of employment. Potential conditions of employment may include:

  • Employment reference check (required for all positions)
  • Driver’s abstract
  • Educational verification
  • Criminal reference check

The County of Lambton will only request a criminal reference check if it is a bona fide occupational requirement for the specific position, after the verbal conditional offer. We understand that a criminal record does not define an individual, and each application is reviewed with careful consideration.

Once all conditions of employment have been met and verified by the hiring team, you will receive a letter of offer. Please take the time to review the offer and follow up with the hiring manager if you have any questions about the terms of the contract before signing.

Once you have signed your letter of offer, you will receive an email with instructions for the online onboarding process. It is required that you complete the online onboarding prior to your start date.

You will also attend New Employee Orientation, which is held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month.
