Ways You Can Help
Circles® Ally
Allies are volunteers from all walks of life who have attended the Bridges Out of Poverty training or completed Circles Ally training, both of which are delivered by Circles Lambton staff.
Circles Allies work directly with a Circle Leader and their family to assist them in accomplishing their plan of change toward full self-sufficiency.
Circles Allies:
- Make intentional friendship with the individual and/or family experiencing poverty and provide encouragement, support problem solving, and share personal experiences, knowledge and social capital.
- Increase awareness of one's own stereotypes and class rules.
- Use experience of friendship to advocate within the community for changes in removing systemic barriers that keep people trapped in poverty.
- Attend Circles meetings once a week, three times a month.
- Promote Circles in the community.
Donate
You can make a financial donation to Lambton Circles® online. Receipts are provided for income tax purposes.
Financial donations are used directly to assist Circles® Leaders in removing barriers allowing them to move forward with their plans of change - leaving poverty and reaching their dreams of a better life. Some of these barriers include lack of transportation, educational expenses, moving into safe and affordable housing and other basic needs of life.
Lambton Circles® promotes the vision to end poverty in the County of Lambton. Your donation represents an investment and commitment to help people with their plan to transition out of poverty.
You can also be involved by donating your time to prepare a meal for one of our Circles meetings.
