The 2025 weed spraying program will start on May 26 and end June 27, 2025 (weather permitting).
The County of Lambton controls weeds under the Public Works Pesticide Use exception of the Cosmetic Pesticides Ban along the rural County roadsides noted in the list below, in the Herbicide Use Public Notice, and on the Weed Spray Areas map.
Keeping the growth of grass, plants, and other vegetation along county roads under control ensures clear sight lines, encourages drainage, and prevents the growth of trees and brush within the right of way.
The herbicide will kill weeds but not grasses. Spraying of the herbicide will be completed by a qualified contractor licensed by the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change under requirements of the Pesticides Act. Only unmaintained ditches will be sprayed with herbicide, maintained yards and ditches will not be sprayed.
