Housing Services

To apply for housing assistance, follow these steps:

1. Complete the application form and ensure all applicants 16 years and older sign. You can get an application:
   • By completing the Online Application Form
   • By downloading and printing the application form.
   • By visiting the Housing Services office in the Lambton Shared Services Centre, 162 Lochiel Street, Sarnia.
   • By calling 519-344-2062 ext. 2200 or toll free 1-800-387-2882.
2. If filling out a paper copy, submit the completed application and all required documents to:
   • Housing Services Department
     Lambton Shared Services Centre
     162 Lochiel Street, Suite 100
     Sarnia, ON N7T 7W5
3. Staff will review your application and follow up with you in one of the following ways:
   • If your application is incomplete, you will receive a letter advising what additional information is needed. If the missing information is not provided your application will be cancelled.
   • If your application is complete, you will receive a letter stating if you are eligible for housing assistance.
4. Eligible households will be added to the waiting list for the selected locations.
   • View information on County of Lambton owned units
   • View information on privately owned units that are subsidized

Special needs housing units are modified to be accessible and/or have support services.

To apply for a special needs housing unit, a doctor or support agency must confirm in writing that at least one member of the household requires an accessible or supported unit.

The Housing Services Department can provide information on how to contact providers. Please contact Housing Services at 519-344-2062 ext. 2200 for more information.

Please note, eligibility for special needs housing is not based on income.
