The County of Lambton has several Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection events each year, in partnership with Clean Harbours Canada Inc.

Waste Management Master Plan

The Waste Management Master Plan (WMMP) was developed to provide long-term strategic direction for diversion and disposal of the County's municipal solid waste. Since the WMMP was originally published in 1995, the County has adapted many of the plan's recommendations to suit current local and provincial policy environments, however, the jurisdictional roles of the County and local tier municipalities have largely been retained and a subsequent extension of the original private landfill service contract secures end-of-life space for municipal solid waste in the County to the year 2035.

Waste Collection

Local municipalities are responsible for the collection of municipal solid waste and the transportation of all collected waste to the above noted facilities. Waste reduction initiatives are also the responsibility of the local municipalities. For more information about these programs, contact your local municipality.
